The Painting with Light team of Jeroen Opsteyn and Katleen Selleslagh delivered the lighting and videodesign for the Ketnet musical ‘TROEP!’ The scenic video content was also produced by Painting with Light. They commissioned Bart Tauwenberg of New Solid to handle this job. Using a grandMA2 and a disguise mediaserver with all the video content projected on to an LED wall that had an extra graphic layer used to map Notch (real-time) VR spotlights, Jeroen and Katleen created a vibrant and dynamic backdrop to this magical tale that has a timely ecological message. Arthur Claesen and Jos Claesen helped with the Notch programming.
With a premier on Saturday 9th March in in Plopsaland De Panne, the musical tells the story of how young people transform a junk filled square to a place for their community to enjoy through a mixture of songs from the Studio 100 and Ketnet repertoire as well as a number of new compositions. The show will visit venues at Ostend, Hasselt, Ghent and Antwerp until June 1st.
But the story doesn’t end there! Under the lead of Peter Van den Bosch, Jeroen and Katleen went the extra mile to capture and convert the entire show making it ready for broadcast. What a team!
