The Bodyguard, the musical

Assignment:

Stage Entertainment is known for their quality musicals over the last decades. After Joop van de Ende and Albert Verlinde joined their strengths earlier this year, the expectations were high for their new project The Bodyguard. The idea was to recreate the story of the movie on stage, using high end technologies to give the audience a unique experience. They used gigantic LED walls, that moved around the stage, as an adition to the traditional setting elements. In order to make this happen, they needed someone that knew a thing or two about lighting design. That's where Painting with Light stepped in.

Solution:

We wanted to create the look and feel of a movie scene. Because amount of set changes that took place, we used our creativity not to create chaos. We created an extra player on the stage with our lighting design. The musical had some rock, soul and disco in it, so we could go all the way. The reactions were very positive.
