These days, the Lighting Design of a sports arena is much more than just mimicking daylight… when refurbishing or constructing a new arena, integrating showbiz effects to the design has become a must.
At KV Oostende, a premier league soccer team in Belgium, they wanted to let fans enjoy the matches to the fullest, and to make the experience as engaging as possible. To do this, Painting with Light and Philips put their head together.
Solution
By combining LED and traditional HID lighting, the setup can be used for both the general lighting of the pitch, as well as a full-blown half-time show that takes audience experience to the limit.
