Lots of colours and emotion for Clouseau Danst on tour

2016 Tour in Belgium

Assignment

On 26 February 2016 the album "Clouseau Danst" (Clouseau Danses) came out. The twelfth album of the Dutch speaking (and singing) Belgian band is an ode to the dancefloors, to the night, to passion, to eagerness and enthusiasm. Producer Hans Francken sent the band members on a musical journey through funk, soul, disco and pop. Koen and Kris worked with their trusted team of friends for their Clouseau Danst Tour 2016, and of course Painting with Light is a part of that. By working together for years, we have established mutual confidence, which ensures that Painting with Light knows the wishes of Clouseau like no other. That is also why they have asked us to provide lighting design for the concert tour again.

Solution

The purpose of the Clouseau Danst Tour 2016 is to let fans put their worries aside and to party like there's no tomorrow. With that idea in mind, Luc and Paco set out to design the lighting. A mix of colours has to accentuate the exuberant atmosphere and emotions. Behind the band, we placed 8 DMX controlled Ribbon Elevators, driven by a GrandMA. These elevators gave us the possibility to create many different looks - and feels - for the whole setlist. Finally, we also dusted off our disco balls. Because what goed together better with funk, soul, disco and pop than disco balls? Clouseau wanted to create a feel-good moment. We took that idea and tried to make it a leading factor in our design and programming.
